Batman's motorcycle, known as the Batpod, is being put up for auction for film memorabilia with an initial estimated value of up to $1.2 million.

The vehicle was used in Christopher Nolan's films "The Dark Knight" (2008) and "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012), starring Christian Bale, CNN reports.

The motorcycle is being sold by the Propstore auction house.

The vehicle was designed by Nolan himself in collaboration with production designer Nathan Crowley. Chris Corbould, an Oscar winner for visual effects, was then tasked with bringing it to life.

The motorcycle features a 750cc Honda engine and 31-inch tires.

The motorcycle is one of six examples ever made, but it is the only one officially released by Warner Bros. Studios.

Online bidding opened on Thursday and will conclude on December 4 at a live auction in London.

The Batpod is being sold along with hundreds of other film props, including two Batman costumes – one worn by Bale in the 2005 film "Batman Begins," and the other worn 10 years earlier by Val Kilmer in the film "Batman Forever."
