Fire at Poultry Factory Kills 4,500 Chickens
Around 4,500 one-day-old chickens were killed in a fire that occurred at the Prahres Vertsialishki farm in the village of Halounichy in the Hrodna district on Tuesday, said the press office of the emergency management ministry.
The blaze broke out at around 8:50 p.m.
There were 30,000 chickens in the poultry house. Some 25,000 were rescued, said the press office, adding that the fire, believed to have been caused by a short circuit, had been put out quickly.
