A Belarusian wanted by Germany was detained at the Lithuanian border.
At the Medininkai border checkpoint, Lithuanian border guards detained a Belarusian citizen who had been placed on an international wanted list by German law enforcement authorities. He was handed over to the Vilnius police, reports the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania.

Border guards found out that a 35-year-old citizen of Belarus, a passenger in a car with Russian license plates, is wanted by Germany. His passport contained a Schengen visa, and a check showed that Germany had issued a European arrest warrant for him a month ago.
The driver and the second passenger were allowed to continue on their way, while the Belarusian was placed in a temporary cell. During the inspection, a laptop, a phone, and more than 6,000 euros were found in his belongings.
This year, Lithuanian border guards have already detained 749 people who were wanted for crimes or offenses. Most of those detained are citizens of Lithuania, but there were also citizens of Russia, Great Britain, Belarus, Latvia, and other countries.
