A coordination meeting was recently held at the Brest Regional Executive Committee, dedicated to "increased risks, challenges, and threats to national security related to the conduct of the 'SMO' in Ukraine."
"Belpol" obtained a document that reveals the real picture of what is happening — and it raises serious questions about the actions of the Belarusian regime.
According to the document, starting from 2025, 42 cases of UAV crashes, as well as their component parts, have been recorded in the Brest region. What is particularly concerning is that three of these UAVs were equipped with explosives:
— one drone detonated upon impact,
— two were deactivated by sappers through controlled detonation.
The document also confirms: materials from investigations into the discovery of UAVs are under consideration by the Investigative Committee's Department for the Brest region.
As of December 1, for 27 investigation materials, a decision was made to refuse to initiate a criminal case under paragraph 1 of part 2 of Article 29 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Belarus — that is, due to the absence of elements of a crime.
The investigation could only have made such a decision if the affiliation of the UAVs with the Armed Forces of Russia was clearly established.
Despite the direct threat to the safety of citizens, the regime does not make any claims against Russia and does everything possible to prevent this information from becoming public. The approach to investigating such incidents shows that even emergencies that could potentially lead to human casualties will be concealed. The dissemination of information of public importance is suppressed at all costs.
According to "Belpol," the scale of UAV crashes in the Gomel direction may be even larger, making the problem systemic.
