Nobel laureate MarÃa Corina Machado managed to secretly reach Oslo after several months in hiding
Her daughter received the award on her behalf, but MarÃa Corina appeared on the hotel balcony.

The Venezuelan opposition leader appeared in the Norwegian capital after the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, where her daughter participated instead of her. Machado waved from the balcony of the Grand Hotel after several months spent in hiding: she last appeared in public in January, writes the BBC.
She managed to secretly reach Norway, despite a ban on leaving Venezuela. Standing on the balcony before the gathered people, Machado placed her hand on her heart and sang along with her supporters before going out to meet them in person.
Her daughter, Ana Corina Sosa, received the award on behalf of her mother earlier on Wednesday.
The Nobel Institute awarded Machado the Peace Prize this year "for her struggle for a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy" in Venezuela.
After this, Machado went outside to greet her supporters who were waiting behind metal barriers. At one point, the laureate climbed over the barrier to join them.
