The Belarusian alpine skier did not qualify for the second run of the slalom competition at the Olympics in Italy.

95 girls started in the morning. Shkanava completed the course in 51.86 seconds and took 43rd place, trailing American Mikaela Shiffrin's best time by 4.73 seconds.
The 30 fastest athletes from the first attempt will compete in the second run. Maria was almost two seconds away from a qualifying position.
The 2026 Olympic Games marked Shkanava's fifth career appearance at the age of 36.
Thus, two Belarusian athletes remain at the Olympics.
