Today, video hosting YouTube removed the state propaganda channels BelTA, STB, and ONT. Authorities promise retaliatory measures.

The Ministry of Information stated that it negatively assesses this "unfriendly and baseless step" and reserves the right to take necessary response measures.

Specific threats were also voiced in the Telegram channel of Belarusian Television:

"YouTube has, evidently, taken the final steps towards being recognized as an extremist platform and its complete blocking in Belarus."
