According to "Brestenergo", another 29 unmanned aerial systems will be purchased by the end of the year. Currently, four drones are already used in the region, operating in Baranovichi, Brest, and Pinsk.
Drones are used for inspecting lines with voltages from 0.4 to 330 kV. They help to find damage to insulation and wires that are difficult to spot from the ground. Drones also allow inspection of hard-to-reach places — swamps, fields, and other complex areas.
In addition, the use of drones saves time and resources, as there is no need to de-energize lines or lift workers onto poles.
Specialists note that working with drones requires considering the weather, as wind or rain can affect flights.
Drones are used both for finding the causes of accidents and for planning repairs and monitoring completed work.
