One of them, an 18-year-old boy, took money from a 67-year-old pensioner. The woman was tricked using a meter replacement scheme, and then intimidated with criminal liability for treason against the state. First, she left 10 thousand dollars in a hiding place, and then handed over another 42 thousand dollars, belonging to her son, to the courier.
Then, to buy time, the scammers forced the pensioner to film her apartment, the floors in the entrance, and the shoes standing near the door.
While the woman was performing this task, the 18-year-old courier left her money in a hiding place. Another foreigner took them from there. The 20-year-old man was detained at the crime scene; the money was confiscated and will be returned to the defrauded pensioner.
The suspect confessed that he had managed to complete six tasks for telephone scammers. He transferred money from one hiding place to another to cover his tracks.
