The emergency notification received by Vilnius residents states:
«Alert Level — 2.
The Lithuanian Armed Forces report:
«PROBABLE AIR DANGER. Stay calm, identify a safe place. If you notice a suspicious object flying or fallen, call 112, do not approach it. We will notify you about the end of the danger with a separate message».
NATO fighter jets took to the air due to drones near Lithuania's borders.
The Lithuanian army reported on Wednesday morning that a suspected drone was spotted near Lithuania's border, prompting the activation of a NATO air policing mission, reports LRT.
«We inform that the reason for sending out warnings to the population was a radar mark recorded with characteristics typical of unmanned aerial vehicles. Activity is observed near the Lithuanian border – near the Ignalina, Utena, Zarasai, and Švenčionys districts. The NATO air policing mission has been activated», — states the message from the Lithuanian Army.
