US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed new steps to reach an agreement with Iran during a phone call yesterday, Axios writes, citing three sources.

One of the publication's interlocutors described Netanyahu's state after the conversation with the phrase: "his hair was on fire." Another source said that "Bibi was furious."

According to Axios, Netanyahu is skeptical about negotiations. He wants to resume military actions to further weaken Tehran's military potential and undermine the regime by destroying critical infrastructure.

Trump, the publication writes, continues to assert that a deal is possible, but declares full readiness to return to war if a compromise is not found. Trump also noted that Netanyahu "will do everything I want him to do" regarding Iran, although he emphasized that they have a good relationship.

Over the past few days, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt have been working on refining a peace proposal.

The main goal of the new efforts is to obtain more specific commitments from the Iranians regarding their nuclear program, and clear parameters from the US for the gradual unfreezing of Iranian assets.

However, all sources emphasize that it is still unclear whether Iran will agree to this option.
