Traffic officer hit by car by a pensioner near Minsk died in hospital. He was given a lavish funeral
The Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported on the funeral of senior traffic police inspector of the special unit of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, police major Pyotr Masalbasov. This is the same traffic police officer whom, on May 14 near the village of Yakubovichi, Minsk district, on the 10th kilometer of the P-58 highway, a 74-year-old driver hit .
It is reported that Masalbasov died in hospital from his injuries. The farewell ceremony was held at the St. Elisabeth Convent.
Present at the funeral were Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov, as well as deputy ministers, heads of the Minsk City Internal Affairs Directorate and regional Internal Affairs Directorates, and the leadership, personnel, and veterans of the State Automobile Inspectorate.
According to official information, Pyotr Masalbasov was born in 1986 in the village of Tsikhinichy, Rahachow district. He dedicated a significant part of his life to service in the State Automobile Inspectorate, working on the roads of the Gomel and Minsk regions. He is survived by two minor sons.
