Dacha owners will be strictly punished for hogweed and even for goldenrod
Owners of dachas, private houses, and land plots will be obliged to fight invasive plants, writes Minsk-news.

Failure to combat the spread of Sosnowsky's hogweed and Canadian goldenrod now falls under administrative responsibility.
Many mistakenly consider the latter a harmless yellow flower, but ecologists call it one of the most aggressive invasive species.
Thus, one bush produces up to 100 thousand seeds per season with 100% germination. The plant displaces local flora, degrades the soil, and releases substances that inhibit the growth of other plants. Goldenrod is not eaten by animals, rarely gets sick, and actively seizes territories along roads, on abandoned plots, near dachas, in cemeteries, and on the outskirts of fields.
A new article is being introduced into the Code of Administrative Offenses — "Failure to carry out work on regulating the spread and number of certain plant species".
From June, plot owners will have to monitor their territory more carefully and promptly destroy dangerous plants. Special attention should be paid to neglected corners, areas along fences, and plots near wastelands and fields.
Fines for goldenrod and hogweed will be imposed from June 19. The fine is up to 450 rubles (up to 10 basic units).
