"We are not interested in engaging in an endless cycle of negotiations that lead nowhere," Marco Rubio said.
He emphasized that the US is ready to return to dialogue if an opportunity for "constructive and productive" negotiations arises.
Rubio also called rumors that Washington is allegedly pushing Ukraine towards a specific position in negotiations a fake.
According to him, Ukraine is receiving more aid than ever before through the PURL program, in which the US continues to participate.
According to the US Secretary of State, the war "will not end with a military victory for either side."
Marco Rubio also answered a question about Russia's accusations against the Baltic countries. Earlier, Russian intelligence claimed that Ukraine was allegedly preparing strikes on Russia from the territory of Latvia.
"We understand that these countries feel threatened — for completely obvious reasons. Therefore, this is concerning, as there is always a risk that such things could escalate into something larger, and that possibility always exists," he stated.
According to Rubio, the US is "closely monitoring" the situation and interacting with NATO on this issue.
