In Belarus, a temporary requirement for drivers is being introduced — to обов’язково turn on dipped headlights during daylight hours. This measure is connected with the traffic police's preventive campaign "Attention — Children!", which is being conducted on the eve of summer holidays.

The goal of the campaign is to reduce the number of traffic accidents involving children, as during this period more children appear on the streets, especially near roads.
The campaign will be active throughout the country from May 25 to June 5. During this time, all drivers are obliged to drive with dipped headlights on even during the day.
The traffic police explain that in the summer period, the road situation becomes more intense, and additional visibility of vehicles helps to better notice transport and reduces the risk of accidents. Special attention is requested for areas near schools, children's institutions, pedestrian crossings, bus stops, and courtyards.
A fine of up to 3 basic units is предусмотре for violating this requirement.
