Dubai has temporarily abolished the tourist tax in hotels to support demand for holidays there. This refers to the Tourism Dirham fee - a charge usually taken from tourists for each night of stay. In expensive hotels, it can be around 20 dirhams (about $5.5) per day.

Since April 1, this fee is no longer charged, making holidays in Dubai cheaper. However, authorities warned that this is a temporary measure: the fee will be reinstated from June 30.
The abolition applies to all types of accommodation - hotels, apartments, and resort complexes. The goal is to support the hotel business and improve the financial situation in this sector.
This decision is linked to a decrease in demand for trips to the UAE from foreigners, including due to regional tensions. To attract customers, hotels also offer discounts and additional bonuses, especially for local residents.
