The US proposes three steps for de-escalation of the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in an interview with Axios.
The Trump administration insists on three immediate steps, he noted: a ceasefire targeting energy infrastructure, the resumption of the Black Sea grain corridor, and a trilateral meeting between the US, Russia, and Ukraine. Abu Dhabi is named as a possible venue for such a meeting.
"We are open — any country, any format," Zelenskyy stated.
He also noted that during a meeting with Trump, he named the December G20 summit in Miami as another possible venue for a trilateral high-level meeting.
"Now there is a proposal on the table: an energy ceasefire. We are ready," Axios quotes Zelenskyy as saying.
Zelenskyy also emphasized that he continues to doubt Putin's intentions and believes that he might find reasons to avoid a trilateral meeting.
