Security forces warn Belarusians that they could be recruited for terrorist acts
The Investigative Committee reported cases where unknown individuals contact citizens of Belarus via messengers and, under various pretexts, try to induce them to commit especially grave crimes.

In particular, as the security forces claim, people are offered money to commit terrorist acts on railways and other infrastructure facilities. The so-called "curators", they say, are looking for potential perpetrators in messenger chats and social networks.
The Investigative Committee cited an attempt to recruit an 18-year-old guy as an example. An unknown person allegedly wrote to him on Telegram and offered him an allegedly easy part-time job – to set fire to relay cabinets on the railway. But the guy, they say, did not fall for the offer and immediately reported it to the security forces.
They also claim to have information about other repeated attempts to recruit citizens of Belarus, which falls under Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Belarus ("Act of Terrorism"), the sanction of which provides for an exceptional measure of punishment.
The security forces assure that suspicious groups will be detected even at the stage of formation, and the preparation of terrorist acts will be stopped before their commission. The department also reminded that when stopping especially grave crimes, security forces may use physical force, special means, and firearms.
