Kaveryn said that if his offer of an erotic photoshoot for Tsikhanouskaya had not caused such a reaction, he probably would not have apologized
"Let's be honest, that same evening after the broadcast, we sat wonderfully with Sviatlana Heorhievna and our whole friendly company, celebrating Saturday, drinking wine, and no one cared about it." But the host admits the question was sexist.

In a program on "Belsat," the host Kanstantsin Kaveryn was reminded of an incident where, on air, he asked Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya why it was impossible for her to pose for a naked photoshoot to draw attention to political prisoners.
Kaveryn agreed that his question was sexist. The host later apologized.
"And if this wave of canceling hadn't started, would you have apologized?" Dzianis Dudzinski asked him.
"I don't think so," Kaveryn began to answer, but did not finish his thought, as Maryna Mentusava objected that there was no real canceling.
"I believe that what happened on air was my mistake. I don't have convinced misogyny. I don't think that a woman is all that, I don't have that in my head. It was a mistake, and it was pointed out to me," Kaveryn said.
Kaveryn noted that he can agree with arguments if it's a constructive explanation, not just insults, labeling him a "misogynist," and canceling a person.
"I am ready to admit my mistake, but I am not ready to talk to you about the facts of my biography that you have invented for me. When a label is hung – then I am not ready."
He again mentioned that he decided to apologize after seeing the reaction to his words.
"Let's be honest, that same evening after the broadcast, we sat wonderfully with Sviatlana Heorhievna and our whole friendly company, celebrating Saturday, drinking wine, and no one cared about it."
