Near Samara, one of Europe's largest oil depots burns for the second day after a Ukrainian strike
For the second day, a fire continues in Russia's Samara region at the 'Samara' linear production and dispatch station, which was attacked by Ukrainian drones on November 2. This is one of Europe's largest oil tank farms, where four main oil pipelines converge, writes The Moscow Times.

The fire was reported by Astra media outlet, citing eyewitness videos. The published footage shows a large cloud of smoke over the damaged tanks. The facility is located approximately 30 kilometers from Samara. The region's governor, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, only reported the repulsion of the Ukrainian drone attack and the operation of air defense systems.
The station belongs to the 'Transneft' company and is Russia's largest oil transportation and distribution hub. It is used for receiving, storing, and subsequent transportation of oil. On an area of more than 216 hectares, there are 71 tanks with a total capacity of over 1.6 million cubic meters. Here, the Almetyevsk — Kuibyshev, Koltasinsky — Kuibyshev, Nizhnevartovsk — Kurgan — Kuibyshev, and Guryev — Kuibyshev oil pipelines converge.
After the attack and the resulting fire, which was visible even from space, the pumping of Kazakh oil intended for export via the Atyrau — Samara pipeline was temporarily halted. This was reported by the Kazakh authorities.
In late October, Ukraine resumed strikes on Russian oil infrastructure. At least four oil refineries in different regions of the country were attacked.
On October 30, Rosneft's Novokuibyshev refinery was hit; on October 31 — Bashneft's refinery in Ufa; on November 1 — Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez (NORSI) refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The day before, after an attack, Slavneft-YANOS's Novoyaroslavsky refinery, which is among the five largest oil refineries in Russia, caught fire.
Previously, Ukraine had suspended strikes on oil refineries for almost two weeks following a demand from US President Donald Trump not to attack Russian enterprises producing diesel fuel.
