Five people detained for comments about officials and police officers

Residents of various regions of Belarus aged 36 to 66 were found during social media monitoring. Their detention was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the police, the detainees left «negative comments» about top government officials and Minsk police officers.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs claims that the detainees admitted guilt and explained their actions, including by the influence of alcohol.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs does not specify which specific comments became the basis for the detentions.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, criminal cases have been initiated, and the detainees face up to four years of imprisonment.
