In 2025, 39 online stores engaged in selling drugs ceased their operations in Belarus. This was announced at a press conference by Andrei Kudrytski, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Drug Control and Anti-Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

According to Kudrytski, in each case, law enforcement officers identified and eliminated the entire criminal scheme — from drop-off couriers and those handling finances, to the organizers and owners of the online platforms.

The recruitment of new participants occurred primarily through social networks, messengers, and the darknet — by mass distribution of messages with 'job' offers. The MIA warns that such promises of easy and quick earnings can very quickly lead to criminal liability.

The average age of those brought to justice for drug distribution is 25-30 years. However, cases are also recorded where adolescents become involved, including 13-year-olds.

Over the past year, the MIA confiscated more than 1.3 tons of narcotic substances, and the total volume discovered by all law enforcement agencies exceeded 3 tons. According to the agency, the most sought-after psychoactive substances are mephedrone, lifedrone, and alpha-PVP.
