Israel launched an offensive operation in Lebanon
Israel is beginning an offensive operation in Lebanon, the Chief of the Israeli General Staff announced.

Overnight, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) carried out airstrikes on targets in Lebanon. These actions were in response to Hezbollah's shelling of Israel.
Strikes were carried out, including, on the southern suburbs of Beirut.
The Israel Defense Forces also called on residents of more than 50 villages in Lebanon to evacuate after the Iran-backed Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel.
"For your safety, you must immediately evacuate your homes and move at least 1000 meters from the villages to open areas," the warning stated.
"Anyone located near Hezbollah members, its facilities, or military assets, puts their life at risk," Israel's statement read.
