Max Messenger Automatically Adds Solovyov, and Unsubscribing from Him is a Whole Quest
Users of the Russian website "Pikabu" noticed a problem in the Max messenger, created by the Russian state: some people are getting channels they didn't subscribe to and from which it's difficult or impossible to unsubscribe, writes "Meduza".

One user published a video where he tries to unsubscribe from a channel related to propagandist Vladimir Solovyov. Despite repeatedly clicking the "unsubscribe" button, the channel still remains in the chat list.
Other participants also confirmed that many unknown channels appeared for them, including those with pro-government and propaganda content. This is observed in the desktop version of the program – there are no such problems in the mobile version. Some complain that after attempting to unsubscribe, they are automatically subscribed again, and there is no option to report. In some cases, the messenger even freezes.
One user noted that he was able to solve the problem by changing privacy settings — allowing only his contacts to add him to channels and chats.
The Max messenger began to be actively promoted in Russia after its launch in 2025. Against this backdrop, authorities are restricting the operation of other popular services, such as WhatsApp and Telegram. However, Max itself has already been criticized for potential security problems and the risk of user surveillance.
