Alexander Ovechkin became the second hockey player in NHL history to score 1000 goals
The "Washington" forward, in a game against "Colorado," in addition to updating the National Hockey League's regular season goals record, became the second author of a significant achievement.
The 40-year-old athlete became the second person in NHL history to score 1000 goals. The first was Wayne Gretzky, who had 1016 goals: 894 in the regular season and 112 in the playoffs.
Ovechkin broke Gretzky's regular season goals record in April 2025. He needs 17 more goals to reach the overall record.
