According to local media, the plane crashed approximately 3 km from the city of Puerto Leguízamo. So far, at least 20 servicemen have been rescued. The exact figures for casualties and the causes of the catastrophe have not yet been established. Military units are already working at the scene, and an investigation has been launched.

Video footage circulated by media shows military personnel and paramedics heading to the crash site of the plane, which caught fire after the accident. The Minister expressed condolences to the families of the victims and asked not to spread unconfirmed information.

The Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules is a model widely used worldwide. A month ago, a similar plane crashed in Bolivia, taking the lives of 20 people and injuring 30 more.
