Polish law enforcement officers found that the woman had submitted false information to the bank regarding her entrepreneurial income, significantly overstating it, in order to obtain a loan for more than 535,000 zlotys (about 146,000 dollars). The documents were submitted to the bank on her behalf by the intermediary.
The Belarusian woman and the intermediary were detained at the moment they arrived at the bank to finalize the paperwork and sign the loan agreement. After completing the necessary procedures, both were charged with credit fraud. They face up to 5 years in prison.
