According to the count, 784 bison currently live in the forest — 58 more than at the beginning of 2025.
Specialists also determined the population structure: 130 males, 425 females, 139 young animals aged 1.5 to 3.5 years, and 90 calves born this year.
Bison live in different parts of the forest. About a third of the population is in the south, and approximately another quarter is in the northeast. There is also a small herd in the north. Some animals move between regions; for example, a separate group migrated to the territory of Pruzhany district.
In addition, bison can be seen in special enclosures open to visitors.
