Fatalizadeh is one of several high-ranking Iranian officials who have died in recent weeks as a result of military actions and strikes by Israel and the United States. According to international media reports, dozens of officials and commanders were killed in attacks in late February.

The "Fatehin" unit, led by Fatalizadeh, is known for its special training. Its members previously participated in the war in Syria and were involved in suppressing protests in Iran. Authorities have repeatedly acknowledged their role in combating demonstrators.
