In Austria, a Guy Was Prosecuted for Sending a Live Cat to Germany by Postal Parcel
The incident occurred in the town of Hagenbrunn. An employee of a postal service logistics center found a live cat in a damaged postal box. It turned out that a 20-year-old resident of Vienna tried to send it to Germany along with other parcels, writes the Kronen Zeitung publication.

The cat named Shana spent more than a day in the cardboard box without food or water. Inside, there was only a small layer of filler. Fortunately, the animal was found and rescued in time.
The court found the young man guilty and sentenced him to six months of probation. The prosecutor noted that such actions constitute particularly cruel treatment of animals.
During the trial, the accused denied his guilt and claimed that he was allegedly framed, and the cat was allegedly stolen by someone. He even put forward a version that the postman might have taken the animal himself. However, he provided no evidence to support this version.
The investigation also established that after the cat's 'disappearance', he made no attempts to find her. As a result, the court did not believe his explanations. The man himself stated that he would appeal the verdict.
The cat, however, found a new home and is now safe.
