Where 5G is already operating in Belarus
The 5G network is already operating in Minsk and all regional centers, except Grodno, where equipment needs to be fine-tuned.
This was announced by Pavel Tkach, First Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatization, on STB.
The creation of the fifth-generation communication network in Belarus began in April 2025. By the end of last year, 5G connections started in Minsk.
However, not all phones can use 5G.
"Firstly, Apple, which has restricted 5G usage on iPhones via firmware. And also Samsung. But Samsung has promised to update the firmware soon so that subscribers can experience all the benefits," explained Pavel Tkach.
In rural areas, 4G and 3G networks continue to be built. By the end of 2025, the increase in cellular network capacity exceeded the growth in traffic consumption speed. Usually, it was the other way around.
