Local authorities took measures to optimize and improve the monument dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman. But they failed to correctly spell the word "region."

On April 25, a memorial sign in honor of housing and communal services workers was solemnly unveiled in Nesvizh. The initiative was timed to coincide with the Year of the Belarusian Woman, announced by Alexander Lukashenka. However, the appearance of the sign drew criticism. In social networks, it was called a tombstone.

"The Year of the Woman hasn't ended yet, and they've already buried her," "Wake for the Belarusian woman," "Is this a common grave (sisterly grave) for women of housing and communal services? It somehow became scary" — these are just some of the comments from social networks.

People were particularly irritated that the sign was placed on the territory of the historical and cultural museum-reserve — a significant place in the history of Belarus, near the beautiful Radziwill Palace and the baroque masterpiece — Corpus Christi Church.

People saw in this a sign not of the "year of the woman," but of the degradation of Belarusian culture and aesthetic taste under Lukashenka's regime, when masters of art are excluded from decision-making.

And so, on May 2, a photo appeared on social networks: the monument was covered with a metal sheet. This material was popular in the late Soviet era and was used on provincial monuments. But it did not take root, as it quickly became covered with rust.

It must be said that even attempt 2 was not without problems: the authors failed to correctly spell the Russian word "область" (region). They wrote: "облость".

How do you like the monument now? Write in the comments. Remember that they are anonymous.
