Participant of the rally near Rasony, sentenced to seven days, has been released
Some participants are still awaiting administrative trials for "participating in an unauthorized event."
A 52-year-old man, sentenced to seven days of imprisonment, was released from behind bars yesterday after serving his sentence, Radio Svaboda reports.
Recall that on July 29, near Rasony in the Viciebsk region, police detained about three hundred participants of the annual "Rainbow Family" gathering. They had set up a tent camp on the shore of Lake Bielaia near the village of Miežna.
The "Rainbow Family" is an international movement that originated in the USA in 1972 and declares itself as an association of proponents of peace, life in nature, and rejection of consumerism. Gatherings are usually held in sparsely populated areas. Tent camps are set up near bodies of water.
Most of those detained were released after protocols were drawn up. Russian citizens who participated in the gathering were ordered to leave the territory of Belarus. One of the participants, a 52-year-old man, ended up behind bars.
