The situation with visas for relatives of Belarusians living in Czechia may soon improve
Belarusian democratic forces thanked Czech Foreign Minister Petr Matinka for fulfilling his promises and for submitting a government proposal to change visa rules for family members of Belarusians living in Czechia.

The proposed changes should take into account the special situation of Belarusian families, including those whose relatives have already obtained Czech citizenship and do not have a valid Belarusian passport.
According to the proposal, the possibility to apply for short-term visas for family visits will be extended to immediate relatives of Czech citizens, as well as Belarusians who hold a long-term or permanent residence permit in Czechia.
Belarusian democratic forces expressed hope that the proposal will be approved. In their opinion, this will help preserve important family and human ties between Belarusians living in Czechia and their loved ones.
