A month's norm in two weeks: the rainiest cities of August
Where in Belarus the monthly rainfall norm was exceeded was reported by the Republican Center for Hydrometeorology, Control of Radioactive Contamination and Environmental Monitoring of the Ministry of Natural Resources, writes BelTA.
"In Hrodna region, in most of Vitsebsk region, as well as in individual districts of Minsk and Brest regions, more than half of the monthly precipitation norm fell during the month, and at some observation points in Vitsebsk and Hrodna regions, the monthly precipitation norm was even exceeded," Belhydromet reported.
In addition, climatologists reported how much precipitation had fallen since the beginning of the month at the stations:
in Hrodna — 71.7 mm (126% of the monthly norm),
in Vaukavysk — 72.2 mm (123% of the monthly norm),
in Liepiel — 72.5 mm (104% of the monthly norm),
in Vitsebsk — 84.9 mm (111% of the monthly norm),
in Vierkhniadzvinsk — 69.1 mm (101% of the monthly norm).
