«Another incident occurred last night after midnight — an attempt was made to set fire to a Lithuanian enterprise storing Starlink communication equipment. The services had warned this enterprise about possible attacks, security was strengthened, and the attempt failed», — Sinkevičius reported on Facebook.
He did not provide the name of the enterprise or other details of the attempted arson.
«Our services are very closely monitoring the activities of hostile states and are taking measures to protect people and their property», — the Prime Minister added. He did not name who might be behind the attack.
For Monday, October 19, Sinkevičius is convening a meeting of the National Security Commission.
In addition to the attempted arson, the reason was the morning drone incident.
Previously, Starlink facilities have already become targets of alleged sabotage in other European countries. After a fire on September 23 at a ground station in Wola Krobówska, Poland, the prosecutor's office launched an investigation into sabotage in the interests of foreign intelligence. In October, Bulgaria reported a possible arson of 11 out of 17 Starlink antennas near Sofia.
