It became known what new building for BSU will be erected in the center of Minsk
It was previously announced that a new multi-functional student building is planned to be built in the historical courtyard of Belarusian State University in Minsk. Now the project has been put up for public discussion, which will take place from October 26 to November 10, Times.by writes .
The building will be located in the block between Sverdlov, Leningradskaya, Babruiskaya streets and Nezalezhnosti Avenue. It will have five to six floors and an underground level. Architects aimed to integrate the new building into the historical environment, therefore a laconic constructivist style was chosen for it.
The project was developed by the "Beldzyarzhpraekt" institute, with BSU acting as the client. A plot of over 4 thousand square meters has been allocated for construction.
The new building will house educational auditoriums, a sports center, a cafe, a small dormitory, and a museum. The premises will be divided into separate functional zones.
On the first floor, there will be a hall with a cloakroom, a cafe for 48 people, classrooms, and halls for film lectures. The second floor will be entirely dedicated to sports: there will be sports and gymnasiums, changing rooms with showers, and coaches' offices. Educational auditoriums and teachers' offices will be located on the third floor.
The fourth and fifth floors will be occupied by a dormitory for 56 people. It will include living rooms, utility areas, and study rooms. On the sixth floor, lecture halls and a museum are planned. The building will have four passenger elevators, two of which are specifically designated for the dormitory.
The building will be constructed from monolithic reinforced concrete, and the walls will be made of expanded clay concrete blocks. The roof will be flat, with an open terrace and railing.
The project also includes the landscaping of the adjacent territory. Access to the courtyard will be from Leningradskaya street. Roads and sidewalks will be paved with tiles; benches, trash cans, bicycle parking, and flagpoles will be installed near the main entrance.
In the service part of the courtyard, a new transformer substation and a platform for separate waste collection will appear. Two parking spaces for people with disabilities and driveways for fire trucks are also provided.
Anyone interested can view the sketches and schemes of the future building, and submit comments and suggestions on the website of the Moskovsky district administration of Minsk.
Suggestions are accepted from October 26 to November 10. They can be submitted in writing to: Minsk, Dzerzhinsky Avenue, 10, 220036, or by email to mos.stroy@minsk.gov.by with the subject line "Public discussion".
All received comments will be forwarded for consideration to the architectural and urban planning council under the chief architect of Minsk.
