A new building will appear between the railway station and Independence Avenue in Minsk
In the center of Minsk, between the railway station and Independence Avenue, a new multifunctional building is planned to be constructed. The Belarusian State University acts as the project's client, and the architectural concept was developed by the "Beldzyarzhpraekt" institute, writes Domovita.by.

A plot of 0.4054 hectares, which is slightly more than 4 thousand square meters, has been allocated for construction. It is located near the main building of BSU (Belarusian State University), and the university's chemistry and geography faculties. Pryvakzalnaya Square and "Ploshcha Lenina" metro station are located nearby. Currently, this territory belongs to public lands.
Neither the exact number of floors in the building nor the appearance of its facades are known yet. Visualizations and other project materials are promised to be published before the start of public discussion. Architects need to integrate the new building into the existing city center development, taking into account the height, volume, and purpose of the object, as well as the general plan of Minsk.
A detailed planning project, which defines the parameters for the development of the territory, has not yet been approved for this block. Therefore, the concept was put up for public discussion even before the start of design work.
The discussion will take place from October 26 to November 10, 2026, inclusive. All schemes and illustrations will be posted on the website of the Moskovsky District Administration in the "Public Discussions" section. From October 29 to November 10, an online broadcast with a project presentation will also be available there.
Citizens will be able to send their comments and suggestions to the Moskovsky District Administration. This can be done by regular mail to the address: Dzerzhinsky Avenue, 10, or via email [email protected]. In the appeal, it is necessary to indicate that it concerns the public discussion.
After the discussion concludes, all received opinions will be reviewed by the architectural and urban planning council under the chief architect of Minsk, and the district commission will summarize the results in the final protocol.
