As part of the creation of the Baltic Defense Belt, about 150 bunkers are planned to be built in Ida-Virumaa.
"Regarding bunkers that will be built on private lands, agreements will need to be reached with their owners, and either compensation for inconveniences will be paid, or the land will be rented or bought out. However, according to my information, there are currently no large-scale plans for the state to acquire a wider border strip," Herem noted.
The total length of Estonia's border with Russia is 333.7 kilometers, of which 89.5 kilometers account for the land section.
