Belarusian Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makiej expressed concern about the increasing number of the head-on attacks’ by the West on Russia and Belarus under the guise of the human rights issues.

“First of all, we are seriously concerned with the increasing number of ‘head-on attacks’ of the West on us on the human rights issues, attempts to politicize and instrumentalize them to the maximum.

“These attempts do not pursue idealistic purposes. It is done solely in order to advance their own geopolitical interests, and against the background of total silence about the shortcomings in this field at home. It seems to us that there is a wide area for joint work,” Makiej said.

“Apparently, it is time we, together with our partners, started highlighting, in a more active, creative and aggressive way, the shortcomings in those countries who criticize us most fiercely.”

According to the minister, to a certain extent this message can be applied to the problems associated with attempts by some countries to falsify the outcome of WWII. In this regard, Uladzimir Makiej considers it important to increase consistency and ensure close coordination between the two countries in this regard.
