The Rada of the BNR (Belarusian People's Republic in exile) awarded volunteers fighting in Ukraine.
The awards ceremony took place on Heroes Day, which is celebrated in honor of the participants of the Slutsk Armed Uprising of 1920.

President of the Rada BNR Ivonka Survilla addressed the Belarusians in connection with this:
“I appeal to you today to remind all of us of our perhaps greatest heroes. To remind with immense gratitude and to tell them that they still live in the heart of every Belarusian, and that we believe that with their help we will revive our Motherland, we will not allow enemies to erase it from the face of the Earth,” the address reads.
An officer whose name is not disclosed, and the former commander of the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment, Pavel Shurmei, were awarded the Medal of the Order of the Pahonia with an additional mark of military merit. Three soldiers were awarded the Medal of the Order of the Pahonia posthumously.
For personal courage shown in battles against Russian aggressors in Ukraine for the sake of the freedom of Belarus and Ukraine, one officer was awarded the Medal for Military Merit of the first degree (gold), five soldiers were awarded the silver medal, two of them posthumously.
