In the Czech Republic, ROC Metropolitan Hilarion was detained — four containers with 'white substance' found in his car
He was detained yesterday in Karlovy Vary, Baza reported.
It is reported that the police stopped a car in which Metropolitan Hilarion and an accompanying operator were travelling. During the inspection of the car, four small containers with a white substance were found in the trunk.
Hilarion himself denied any involvement in the illegal possession of prohibited substances and considers what happened to be a provocation. The report also states that "the detention was preceded by a long period of pressure on the Metropolitan and the Orthodox community in Karlovy Vary."
In 2024, Hilarion was dismissed from leadership of the Budapest-Hungarian Diocese after accusations of sexual harassment — his former cell-attendant Georgy Suzuki accused him of this.
