Trump announced he is working on a potash deal with Belarus. Fertilizers are to be cheaper than Canadian ones
US President Donald Trump announced that he is working on a deal with Belarus to purchase potash fertilizers at a lower price than the US currently gets from neighboring Canada.

«The United States is working on a major deal to purchase potash fertilizers from Belarus. The price will be significantly lower than what we currently pay Canada, which is very good news for our farmers and ranchers,» Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social.

Earlier today, Alexander Lukashenka stated that Belarus allegedly has no free, uncontracted potash.
Canada, Russia, and Belarus are the three largest producers of potash fertilizers in the world. The main markets for Belarusian fertilizers have always been China and India. If Belarusian potash is reoriented to the USA, Canadian potash will replace Belarusian potash in China. Although the transport distance between Canada and the USA is the shortest, and it is the most natural supplier of this raw material for American farmers.
