Kureichyk accused of writing a script about commander Suvorov. But how did it all happen?
Propagandist Ryhor Azaronak, on his channel, mocked Belarusians who, after the 2020 protests, expressed opinions different from what Alexander Lukashenka and his entourage broadcast. Actors Pavel Kharlanchuk and Aliaksandra Bortich, as well as scriptwriter and director Andrey Kureichyk, were targeted.
«A 'fighter' sells out for any money. Be it dollars, shekels, or rubles,» â Azaronak reacted to the news that Belarusian comedian Andrey Skarokhod, who mocked Lukashenka in 2020, is now complimenting Russian servicemen.
«He sold out for rubles. And he's not the only one, by the way. Kureichyk, for example, without stopping his 'struggle', wrote a script about Suvorov. And Kharlanchuk from Latushka's camp is making money from Putinist Bezrukov in the Gubernsky Theater. And there was also Sasha Bortich â she also got hooked on Kremlin money from the Internet Development Institute (the latter, among other things, supports the production of Russian TV series and films. â NN)».
Sasha Bortich supported the protesters in 2020 and even held a solo picket near the Belarusian embassy in Moscow. Former Kupalavets Pavel Kharlanchuk was actually detained and convicted under Article 23.34 of the Administrative Code (today's 24.23 â «Violation of the order of organizing or holding mass events»).
As an accusation against Andrey Kureichyk, who joined the activities of the Coordination Council in 2020, Azaronak presented that the director allegedly at the same time, parallel to his activities in opposition politics, worked with Russians and wrote a script for them about the Russian commander Alexander Suvorov.

The animated film about Suvorov titled «The Great Journey» from the film studio «Soyuzmultfilm» indeed premiered in 2022, and Andrey Kureichyk was involved in its creation. However, this was during the sketch phase in 2013.

«A simple 16-year-old boy Grisha accidentally finds himself serving the great Russian commander Alexander Suvorov under a false name. It's 1799, a war with Napoleon is ongoing, and the army awaits a Swiss campaign through the Alps. Grisha dreams of returning to his beloved Sonya as soon as possible, and it is love that helps him change: to become brave, decisive, fight the French â and even perform a true deed and help Suvorov himself»," â stated the official plot description.
«I was a co-author of the first draft of the children's animated film «The Great Journey». But later, other people worked on it, rewrote it several times, changed its title, and, as I understand, significantly altered the plot as well. I haven't seen the animated film myself, because I worked on it when it was still in its sketch phase. So I don't even know what's inside. But I want to note that I have not been working with Russians since 2020,» â commented Andrey Kureichyk to «Nasha Niva».
