In Poland, a criminal case has been launched following a hacker attack on the Belarusian online library kamunikat.org, which occurred on the night of May 7, writes Radio Svaboda.

The project's founder, Yaroslav Ivanyuk, reported that employees of the Białystok department of the Polish Bureau for Combating Cybercrime took the situation very seriously. He filed an official statement and provided investigators with technical data, including the addresses from which the attack originated.

Ivanyuk also told Polish law enforcement that on March 3, the site was recognized as an "extremist formation" in Belarus, and there had already been an attempt to hack it previously—in December of last year.

According to him, Polish services do not rule out that the investigation might be transferred to Poland's Internal Security Agency, given the possible connection of the attack with the actions of Belarusian authorities.

The restoration of the library's materials is currently underway so that it can resume its operations.
