Online Library Kamunikat's Website Suffered a Powerful Hacker Attack

«Last night, the website of the Belarusian Internet Library Kamunikat.org did not withstand a hacker attack. Currently, the website is not working. However, news of our death, as well as the death of Belarusian culture and language — as the classic said — are premature and somewhat exaggerated.
Although, it must be admitted that the attack destroyed more than 25 years of work of many people, but we are not giving up.
Amidst intensified repression against Belarusian culture and language, Kamunikat.org was not only a library but also a tool for protecting endangered cultural heritage, as well as a platform supporting free access to knowledge and independent creativity. The hacker attack once again confirmed that Kamunikat is an important cultural project that is a thorn in the side for Lukashenka's regime's special services. We will fight and rebuild one of the most important independent archives of Belarusian culture! It is not ruled out, however, that this will take a long time,» — wrote project manager Yaroslav Ivanyuk on Facebook.
