In Vitebsk, intelligent warning bollards have been installed at a pedestrian crossing.
They appeared at the intersection of Kalinina and Zamkavaya streets.
These bollards use voice and screen indicators that remind pedestrians not to cross the road on a red light, thereby reducing the likelihood of road accidents.
The principle of operation of these bollards is as follows: if a pedestrian starts to cross the road on a red light and crosses an invisible beam between the bollards, the system records it. In response, an audible signal is activated, and the electronic displays show the inscriptions "STOP" or "GO", prompting pedestrians whether they can cross the road or need to stop.
