Vladimir Putin stated that the AFU are striking Russia to "destabilize society", Zelensky's open letter creates "conflict potential", and NATO countries are "preparing for war". The Russian president made these statements at a meeting with graduates of military universities in the Kremlin, as reported by "Dozhd".
In his opinion, the Ukrainian army allegedly deliberately strikes civilian infrastructure with drones to "destabilize society" and "create some uncertainty in the actions" of the Russian army.
The open letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which he proposed a meeting, according to Putin, "does not create prerequisites for peaceful negotiations", but "forms conflict potential".
Putin also accused the "false-democratic West" of talking about preparing for war with Russia and increasing military budgets. According to him, Western countries allegedly "create threats" and provoke Russia, after which they accuse it "of all mortal sins".
Putin compared this to the events of 1941: "Even after the treacherous attack on the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941, precisely a treacherous attack, the West, Hitler's Germany, tried to accuse the USSR and Stalin of aggression against, as we say today, the collective West."
