25-year-old Minsk resident took out a loan and transferred 35 thousand rubles for a meeting with a "Korean singer"
The girl made a virtual acquaintance on one of the social networks.
The new acquaintance introduced himself as a South Korean pop star — an actor and singer with a famous name. In correspondence, the interlocutor promised a rendezvous, but asked her to first contact his "personal manager" to choose a convenient day in his schedule, the police report.
The Minsk resident wrote to the specified email address. Later, she received a letter stating that a meeting with her idol was possible, but for a fee. For the sake of her dream, the fan took out a loan and transferred more than 35 thousand rubles in installments to an unknown account.
The story did not end there: at the request of the fake artist, the victim separately sent money allegedly for preparing documents for the artist's visit to Belarus, arranging medical insurance, and other expenses. After fulfilling all conditions, the fraudsters stopped communicating.
