On September 1, there was a disruption in passenger train services in the Gomel region. The cause was an explosion in Russia
On September 1, 2026, train No. 302 Minsk — Adler was delayed in Gomel, while the opposing train No. 301 Adler — Minsk was rerouted via Krychaw, Mogilev, and Asipovichy. According to sources of the Community of Railway Workers of Belarus, the cause was another railway sabotage in the area of Unecha station in Russia's Bryansk region, which was temporarily closed for train reception.
Belarusian Railways then officially reported only technical reasons for the delays. After traffic resumed, train No. 302 was again routed via Dobrush and Zakopytye — Zlynka.
At the same time, dangerous goods and military echelons have long been re-routed to other routes. Since 2023, ammunition, and later also part of the oil cargo from Mozyr Oil Refinery, are mainly directed via Asinawka — Krasnoye (Orsha — Smolensk section), bypassing Unecha.
At the same time, on the railway via Unecha, where passenger trains still run, there have already been explosions and serious accidents. In May 2025, after the collapse of a road bridge, a passenger train derailed here, seven people died, and 128 were injured. In May 2026, Unecha station itself was attacked, where railway workers died.
On September 1, the aforementioned train No. 301 managed to bypass Unecha via Krychaw, Mogilev, and Asipovichy, although this led to its delay by more than four hours.
